We had perfect weather, a perfect room, and a perfect time in Michigans Keewenaw Peninsula this past weekend:
This was part of the view of the room God provided. We drove to town not knowing where we'd stay. We just prayed and looked around. sadly, all the regular rooms were taken, so *tch* we had to have an "Executive" room on the 5th floor with a brand new pillow top mattress, down comforter, and a few other nifty perks, for just $62.00
We celebrated our anniversay at the first place we ever ate together. same table, wearing what we wore to our wedding. (we are sentimental fools) Pilgrim River Steakhouse in Houghton:
No anniversary trip is complete without visiting the place we first saw each other. Canyon Falls:
There was this unique little bakery somewhere between Copper Harbor and Calumet where this monk-type order live in a gorgeous thing overlooking the lake, and cook stuff like Gignger Bread and fruit Cake. It smelled awesome, and it was very busy with tourists clamoring for the goodies:
Umm.. just a pic by one of the many little look-out points
We also toured Eagle Harbor lighthouse. It really takes you back in time to stand on the craggy outcrop in front of the sturdy brick lighthouse.
Where's Charlie?? can you find him in this picture:
Did you find him? here's a hint:
