Baptism!

Sunday February 1oth was a GREAT day because 3 of my favoritest people made a public proclamation of thier new faith:

First.. My Great Husband, Charlie got to share his testimony and how God had worked in his life at Silver Creek Church;
Charlies youngest boy, Andrew was the first to get dunked. Afterwards he declared "This was an awesome day!"
Then Zach, 14, took the plunge. He told the congregation he saw this as the next step in his walk with God
Then of course, Charlie:
Lots of Joy!
Well, we hurried from the service at Silver Creek to the service at "Waters Edge" where my kids had gone to church that particular Sunday; having become stranded after the Fire-Up Ignighter (see earlier post) The boys are still attending Silver Creek with thier mom, but it seems God is moving us to Waters Edge again... at least for a season.

Off to the Races

A premier event here in Marquette is the Sled dog race! They pile tons of snow on main street and people woop and hollar and cheer these brave souls on. I hear that the Mushers love our race because the community is so supportive.
It was a cold night, but the dogs were happy and excited to run, as always. Everyone got a chance to spend time with the athletes:

Joel made friends with this pretty gal
Zach and Drew petted another one
Grace and Josh spent a lot of time making sure the littles were warm, but had a chance to pet dogs and watch them run as wellCharlie cozied up with a canine before his big event
I loved the blue eyes on this one.

These videos are for Bethany. Last year Bethany and Matt drove the two hours to Marquette and only saw the last two teams. Hey.. it's a big "Yooper" event!!

These guys are whining because they hear the race and see dogs leaving and they are all excited:

This is the dogs running and people cheering.

Cool girls... Cool Guys

Weekends have kept me hopping lately. So much so I am behind on my Blog-posting stuff. In an attempt to begin catching up I will start with pictures from last weekend when the calvary Youth group and leaders came to stay.
A Scene from the bathroom:

A scene from the "Ignighter" held nearby where there were inflatable games , a band and a message. Afterwards the youth met and talked with the local youth about the Lord. I have to say, I was impressed and blessed with the youth group.
And Miss Adelaide Dale took on some big guys in her suomo wrestling outfit. She's so cute, huh? And what a great team to back her up!

But cooler yet was this handsome young man who served and had a great opportunity to talk with a guy about the Lord when the event was over.
And further coolness was listening to my son in law give a message inspiring and challenging the kids to read thier bibles

Sadie loves the Boys

I don't know how to handle this! Whenever I turn my back.. Sadie sneaks off and sleeps with the boys! Here she is with Zach who crashed on the couch after school:
And here she is with Luke Sunday morning. Notice the guilty expression:
Any advice would be helpful! Thanks

It felt great to be a yooper!

Wednesday night us "Homechurchers" headed over to my pal Kathy's house for a potluck and a sledding party. A neighbor of Kathy has created his own "luge" type run, complete with warming room, hot choclate, bonfire, and an atmosphere of winter fun! Here's a few scenes to make you wish you lived up here with the wolf and moosen:

Susan bravely attemps a run:
Charlie and Ralph enjoy some guy talk around the fire:
A pile of girls.. and uh, one guy huddle in the warming room while the run is swept to perfection:
hanging out by the fire. the warming room is behind everyone. Festive, huh?
Kathy joined the men folk sweeping the run.
These are our comrades Ole, Han and Liz, enjoying the family time

Joel and Drew had thier own "male bonding" experience:

Rex Lex and Hannah Montanna

I want to start this out by saying that GOD is AWESOME!!
Without a myriad of endless details to confirm that, just trust me. It's true.
Okay THAT said:

Here is my darling new husband with darling little Hosanna at the Cornerzone last night.
And Grace, of corse. I asked her to smile... yeah...
Too much cuteness for one blog! Now this is the dearest little Zuri the world has ever seen:

Yesterday was full, frazzled and fun. Grace, Hannah and a variety of girls came up to see the "Hannah Montanna" 3D movie/concert here in Marquette. What a blast! Of corse we had to have a "Hannah Montanna" party, including cake and a Hannah Montanna wig. Zuri is sporting the wig here, and everyone was waiting for the cake so I had to snap this before she calmed down. But these three were dubbed (by Grace)Hosanna Indiana, Hannah Montanna, and Zuri Missouri.

Then a REAL, LIVE Band came over to eat at my house. This is "Rex Lex", a Christian Band from Madison WI who were invited over by Hannahs band girlies to enjoy my "Vegan Chili" and Fancy HM cake.Sadie insisted on getting in the picture.
We spent the $5.00 each to watch the band. I wished I could understand the lyrics because they were really talented and fun to watch. The lead singer gave a little message, which I always love, and Hannahs band did alot of dancing. (Except Hannah who stayed at my house with a nasty cold)
It was a fun night.
